You can take the ferry from here to downtown NYC (Wall Street/World Trade Center) or to mid-town. You may be able to park long term at the New York Waterways parking lots in Hoboken and Jersey City. Trains from Metropark get to Penn Station New York in about 35-40 minutes. Traveling by train from New Brunswick to New York usually takes around 45 minutes, but the fastest Amtrak Northeast Regional train can make the trip in 44 minutes. New Jersey transit does not operate this station, so they probably cannot help you with parking. You might want to call the Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL and see if they can give you parking information. The Amtrak website () says the parking is "paid short term parking". There are 9 train lines with service from Trenton, New Jersey to New York, New York. The Metropark station is an exit off the Garden State Parkway, exit 131. Trains stopping here are primarily Amtrak trains, I believe commuter trains stop as well.

The Metropark train station in Iselin (Edison area) has a lot of public parking, and you may be able to park there for a week. You might take a look at the NJ Transit website for information ( or call the town halls of the towns you are considering. Need to know cheap way to get to Times Square from Secausus, New Jersey. However, I don't believe you would be permitted to park for more than 12 hours at either place. Three of us want to go to NYC for a day trip on a Saturday. Bus routes located throughout the town provide easy access to NYCs Port Authority, a major transportation hub leading from New York City to area airports. Another option is Rahway, which is on a direct line into NYC, and has some pubic parking. Mass transit leads directly to New York City from town. However, you will need to change trains at Newark Penn Station for trains into NYC the whole trip will take about 30 minutes. A new station has just opened in Union on the Raritan Valley Line, and I understand you can park there fairly easily. There is at least one Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) available at all rail stations. Parking at most suburban train stations in NJ within 60 minutes or less of NY is quite limited and generally restricted to town residents, or there is limited metered parking for 12 hours or less.
